New “Cap” Switch Mold
The Gateron Cap V2 Switch utilizes a new mold that is similar to a cap, that’s why we named it “Cap Switch”. The upgraded structure for the new switch series offers a smooth and tactile typing experience. It’s also fully compatible with 2-Pin/4-Pin LED, RGB-LED, and mechanical keyboard hot-swappable versions without modifications.

The stem post is enlarged and hollowed out to make the switch more stable with almost no wobbliness. This first-generation gold-plated contact offers better oxidation resistance and a product lifespan of 60 million cycles.

Unique Stem Design
Based on aerodynamics theory, the stem with 0.4-sized tiny holes can release excess air and reduce resistance when the key switch is triggered, making it smoother.
Factory Pre-lubed
The switches are well lubed before leaving the factory, which generally improves the smoothness and stability. There is no need for you to lubricate it again.
Note: Cap Blue Switch is unlubed.

PS: SMD is an acronym for Surface Mounted Device. Their LEDs are attached to a rectangular printed circuit board (PCB). These LED chips can come in a variety of shapes and sizes that can produce different light intensities and colors.
Compatible Keyboards
Compatible with any 5-Pin MX mechanical (hot-swappable) keyboard with 2-Pin LED/4-Pin LED/SMD-LED or RGB-LED lights. Note that the Cap Red Switch, Cap Blue Switch, and Cap Brown Switch are not compatible with any mechanical keyboard with a plug-in light.
Notice: Due to the housing design of the Gateron Cap Milky-Yellow, Golden-Yellow, and Golden-Brown switches, the backlight effect will not be that visible. The above pictures of 3-Pin switches are for product display only, and the actual delivery is 5-Pin switches.
